Importance of Usernames

You may have multiple Corporate Gray Online accounts associated with the same email address. However, each Corporate Gray Online account must have a unique Username. Why would you want multiple accounts? In order to have multiple versions of your resume! For example, you would want one resume that is customized for MARKETING opportunities that you are pursuing and a different resume for SALES opportunities.

Post (or Upload) Your Resume

On the menu bar, select MY RESUME.

If you have a resume in Microsoft Word, PDF, or Text Format, you may upload it to Corporate Gray Online. Please make sure your resume is NOT in Microsoft Word’s “Protected View” mode before uploading it because it would not be searchable by recruiters.

CAUTION: Review your resume to make sure that it does not contain any protected personal identifiable information – NEVER INCLUDE your social security number or birth date on a resume!

To post your resume, click the UPLOAD RESUME red button on the left.

A dialog box will open. Click on the CHOOSE FILE gray button to locate your resume.

Once you locate and select your resume, your resume file name will appear next to the CHOOSE FILE gray button. If OK, click the SAVE blue button.

A successful upload will result in the message, ”Your document has been uploaded!”

Replace Your Resume

You may replace the resume posted in your account at any time by following the instructions in
“Post Your Resume” above.

Download Your Resume

To download the resume associated with your Corporate Gray Online account, select the CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD YOUR RESUME yellow button. You may view and print your resume from this window.

Job Search

To review employment opportunities, click the FIND JOBS on the menu bar.  Use one of the search boxes on the right to search for jobs – by Keyword, Company Name, or other criteria. Please note that at least one search criteria must be selected! You may refine your results by selecting a geographic location as well, but you may NOT search ONLY on location. When you have selected all of your search criteria, press the SEARCH blue button.

To search by Keyword, you may enter a single word – for example: java – or you may use a phrase in quotes – for example: “program manager”.   You may also specify mandatory terms to be included or excluded from your searches by using the plus and minus signs. For example:

“program manager” +software (this would return results that had BOTH “program manager” AND “software” in the description)

“program manager” -aviation (this would return results that had “program manager” BUT DID NOT INCLUDE “aviation” in the description)

To search by Company Name, use the full or partial name of the company. For example, jobs posted by Lockheed Martin Corporation can be found by entering “Lockheed Martin Corporation” as well as “Lockheed Martin” – but no Lockheed Martin jobs will be found if you misspell it as “Lockheed Marvin”!

Note that some companies and agencies may also be known by their initials or acronyms, but their jobs may be under their “official name”.  For example, if you type in “National Security Agency” you will see a list of job opportunities from NSA. But typing in “NSA” will not provide you with a list of NSA jobs! Also, it is possible that you typed in “Lockheed Martin Corporation” – but perhaps its jobs are listed under the shortened name “Lockheed Martin”. Try several versions!!!

To select several locations, hold the CTRL key down while you select multiple values. To de-select, you may click on the value or use CTRL-click. Please note that geographic location may not be your ONLY search criteria!  You must select at least one other criteria (keyword, company name, etc.)

Review Job Opportunities

Your job search results will be displayed on the left of your job search criteria selections, and for each job listed, you may choose to VIEW or SAVE FOR LATER or CONTACT EMPLOYER:

Select the VIEW button to read a description of the job opening. On the description page, you may choose to either APPLY FOR THIS JOB or CONTACT EMPLOYER. The APPLY FOR THIS JOB button will often take you to the employer’s own employment site to continue the application process.

Select the SAVE FOR LATER button to save the job to your dashboard so that you can view it or act on it later.

Select the CONTACT EMPLOYER button if you want to send an email to the recruiter.
